Installing the Outlook Server

There are 2 steps to installing the Outlook Server for . The first is to prepare the Server ready for the install, the second is to install the Outlook Server.

Preparing the Server:

  1. Install and configure by following the same procedure for installing on a workstation.
  2. Check that you can run and login to your database.
  3. Load the email client (MS-Outlook) and ensure that you can send and receive emails.
  4. Once you have completed these tasks, you can install the Outlook Server.

Installing the Outlook Server

  1. Log on to the Server as the Administrator, then run the Outlook Server install program and follow the on-screen instructions. Reboot the server if requested.
  2. Now run the Outlook Server, this can be found in the Timewatch Products folder on the Programs Menu. If a MAPI session is not currently running, you will be asked to login to the Mail System.

  3. A screen similar to the one above should be displayed with the Database field already entered for you. You should also notice the Outlook Server Icon, , in the Windows Taskbar.
  4. You are now ready to configure the system.
